ORGANIC GROWING
Our farming operation and processing are certified organic by the Northeast Organic Farming Association of NJ, and their
certification standards meet or exceed the USDA National Organic Program
rules. Basically, “organic” means that we use no chemical fertilizers or
pesticides, and we don’t add chemicals to our products. Non-organic popcorn is
grown with chemical fertilizers, weed-killing herbicides, and is usually fumigated with
pesticides between the time of harvest and the time you buy it. Organic farming is
not easy, but it produces quality food, preserves soil, protects water quality, and
creates a sustainable agriculture for the future. Buying from local farmers like us
helps preserve farmland, open space and the environment of your community. |
